This ball socket was installed in the linkage of the rear lock from '84-'87 on transaxle models (944/924). If it is broken, the lock will not open.
We also have the corresponding clip on the linkage.
In the 964, on the other hand, this ball socket was used in the linkage of the air conditioning system.
If the adjustment of the air conditioning unit no longer works, it may be due to the broken ball socket in the linkage.
