This special wrench is needed to install Bilstein shock absorbers in a Sachs/Boge strut. The shock absorber has a union nut, which is screwed to the strut. For this purpose, the wrench engages precisely in the nut by means of the flared spigots. Thus, the required torque, taken from the instructions enclosed with the shock absorber, can be transferred.
This tool with the inner diameter of 50mm is suitable for the shock absorbers with the article number 3900 (set 1940).
As early as 1873, August Bilstein founded the company AUBI in Ennepetal and began in 1954 with the development and automotive supply of monotube gas pressure shock absorbers. Shortly thereafter, production as an original equipment manufacturer for high-end automobile manufacturers followed. After the takeover of Krupp Stahl AG in 1991 and the merger with Thyssen in 1997, the company was renamed ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbH. In 1961, the company entered the racing business, equipping Porsche and Formula 1 racing cars in particular. Since then, Bilstein has stood for outstanding quality and offers various solution concepts for many premium manufacturers. Through constant improvement and innovation, the DampTronic concept was developed from 2004 in collaboration with Porsche AG, which enabled the continuously variable adjustment of the damping system while driving.
