Description:
The intermediate shift lever connects the transmission input shafts to the shift linkage. The lever is deflected by this plastic bearing and is knocked out on almost all vehicles. This results in excessive play in the shift linkage on the Porsche 924, 944 and 968. You can eliminate the unstable feeling of the worn out shift lever with this.
The bearing fits all Porsche four-cylinder transaxles, whether 924S or 944S2/turbo.
Contrary to previous alternatives, this polyoximethylene plastic bearing is exact in the original geometry. This is the only way to eliminate shift play without compromising the lever's smooth operation. Hardly visible to the naked eye, there is an angle of 88\'b0 between the two bores. As a result, the plastic bearing compensates for its somewhat off-center position next to the gearbox and the large bore runs exactly toward the shift lever. However, this makes the manufacturing process much more complex.
We have now reissued the plain bearing in a small series and supply you with the necessary mounting material right away.
For mounting, it is sufficient to jack up the rear of the vehicle a little and remove the left rear wheel.
Together with a new shift lever (item number #3127 in the webshop), you can completely eliminate the play in the shift linkage and have a sporty direct feeling in the shift lever again.
