The most common cause of wishbone defects are the rubber bearings, which over time become brittle and crack. As a result, the wishbone has more play without the desired damping. Accordingly, a defective rubber bearing on the control arm is noticeable in reduced tracking accuracy, noise development during bumps (rumble), poorer driving dynamics when cornering and high one-sided wear of the tires.
